I love figuring out how things work and building something of my own.
01 About
I’m Pranav, a software engineer from Flacq, a village on the east coast of Mauritius near some beautiful beaches. I’ve always loved understanding how things work and trying to build something of my own.
Being an avid gamer, I was drawn to the idea of building my own games, which led me to discover my affinity for software engineering. I taught myself Java, which became my first love. Later, I wanted to build an app to help me understand my dogs, and I kept exploring machine learning even when others doubted the idea. I taught myself Python along the way, and Python became my second love.
Today, I build AI systems at Dayforce and my own products outside work. I am a teacher at heart, so I love giving talks and sharing what I learn. I applied and was selected by Google as the first-ever GDSC lead on my campus, where I founded the club. That was an honour, and helping other students meant a lot to me.
Away From Keyboard
- Games. I was once top 500 in Overwatch and streamed because I loved the community. I also played Destiny 2, trying different builds to make my characters the way I imagine them.
- Outdoors. I love going to the gym to work out and stay fit. Hikes and walks in nature help me clear my mind, and I love being surrounded by greenery and flowers.
- New places, new food. I love visiting new places and towns, checking out restaurants and trying different kinds of food. My favourite pastry is the millefeuille, and I love trying different ones.

I applied and had the honour of being selected by Google as the first-ever GDSC lead on my campus. I founded the club and worked with industry professionals to organise 15 talks on Flutter, MongoDB, React, UI/UX and web development, helping students prepare for professional life and build their networks.

Built the deep-learning credit-scoring model deployed by FinClub, trained on anonymised production data.
Areevy Holdings
Software Developer
First technical hire at an established import and distribution business making as many as 300–400 deliveries a day. I started with its website and online services, then built the systems the business ran on, and looked after everything digital for nearly five years, full-time alongside my degree from 2021.
- Built a web app for deliveries, purchases, inventory and invoicing that generates the records needed for bookkeeping and VAT reporting, replacing pen-and-paper notebooks.
- Built an employee management and attendance system, replacing self-reported days with recorded hours.
- Built a CRM for customer profiles, enquiries and follow-ups, so requests no longer got lost across emails and notebooks.
- Trained staff on each system and used their feedback to improve it. The invoicing and employee management systems are still in use today.
